Wow! I've only just got round to writing about Crufts - where does the time go? We had a lovely (and long) day at the NEC on the 12th March. Our alarms were set for 4:30am! Both girls had qualified, Trinity was competing in the Post Graduate class and Summer was in the Open class and Good Citizen. The Good Citizen show class is an extra class that dogs who have passed at least the Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen Award can enter. Trinity was awarded a fab 4th place in a very strong class. Summer didn't place this time but the open class was big and all of the Kooiker girls were super examples of the breed - I would not have liked to have to choose between them!
The big news of the day was that the judge's choice for Kooikerhondje Best of Breed went to the immensely handsome Eric, who only happens to be Trinity's full brother! We are so thrilled for his owners and his breeder!
The Kooikerhondje Club GB held a raffle and we all contributed to a bring and share buffet which we enjoyed once showing was finished. It was a brilliant sociable day in great company full of happy spoiled dogs and happy (also slightly spoiled!) humans.
